RIOT started a miniature farm at our family home. We have been gardening for a few years for ourselves and would like to expand it to feed other people living in poverty like us in our area. Poor Black people in poverty have a lot in common living in war zones like fresh food shortages and police harassment.
We cleared some land for planting sweet potatoes, potatoes, corn, watermelon and various plants that are great kitchen staples that can feed many on a budget.
We moved some seedlings started in containers and placed them into the earth where they will be cared for so that one day they can nourish us and you if you sign up.
For this we were stalked and watched further by Garner Police Department who watched us from a church parking lot to intimidate and harrass us.

RIOT is raising money to further our feed the people urban farming initiative.
We’ve already started a small operation cultivating tomatoes, potatoes, corn, kale and more.
Our plan is to expand the current grow operation while connecting with local landowners to start more farm plots.
All funds raised will go towards the purchase of gardening tools, compost, soil, seed and other farming material.
As always,
love and solidarity
